Musical Hinge
The musical hinge is a work in progress. It is part of my current interest in designed objects that concern themselves with sound rather than their appearance. This prototype is fitted to my kitchen door.
I’m interested in now finding where this concept might turn into a product. I don’t believe it can be sold as a hinge as it would require people re-hanging their doors, probably including re bedding the hinges. I would like to fit them into a hotel so every room could have its own melody. This might offer security benefits as well as charm.

I’d love to use one of your hinges in this house to go alongside (?or join the collection) of hinge-noises we already have, but not sure about how people would find it in the middle of the night!

Sorry but no. I don’t want to get into hand crafting them individually and they would cost a silly amount. They need a company making them in big numbers for small prices.
